Itron Varia Breiz-Izel - Notre-Dame de Basse-Bretagne

Here is a very unusual Virgin and Child, with a baby Jesus in costume playing the biniou. This piece by Micheau-Vernez, created in 1958 for the Manufacture Henriot, caused a great stir in the bishopric of Quimper. This piece was expensive to produce, but no more than 10 copies seem to have been produced. It fetched more than €21,000 with costs at the sale of May 4, 2019 at Maître Ruellan.
