Paul Philippe (1870 - 1930)

We know nothing about this painter who was active at the beginning of the 20th century. His work, mainly done in Concarneau, links him to this school. It could also be an assumed name. Whatever the case, his resemblance to the pastellist Mathurin Janssaud is undeniable. It could be one and the same painter. Quite often encountered at auction, he is still preferred by some collectors, and his prices are always quite high.
