Young Breton woman with a frog
Paul Hagemans ( - )
Painter, draughtsman, engraver. Son of the painter Maurice Hagemans. Paul Hagemans studied at the Brussels Academy with Isidore Verheyen and Herman Richir (1899-1906). He painted portraits, figures, genre scenes, city and village views, landscapes, historical and religious subjects. He tackled all genres and styles, but like his father, it is the love of nature that he best conveys in his landscapes.
The dates of his collaboration with HB are not known. We only know that he published two works there: the girl with a frog and the juggler.
