Alexandre-Charles Masson

Alexandre-Charles Masson was a French painter born in Paris around 1880. He exhibited regularly at major Parisian institutions, including the Salon des Artistes Français, where he received an honorable mention in 1906.

His work is mainly figurative. He painted many genre scenes and seascapes, mainly in Brittany: Douarnenez, Pont-Croix, Concarneau, Saint-Malo. Fascinated by the maritime world, he accurately captures the quietude of harbors, where time seems suspended between sky and sea.

Masson's work continues to be recognized and appreciated, with several of his pieces featured at auction.
