Renée Carpentier ( - )
Renée Carpentier is one of those rare women who have painted all their lives. Renée trained at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, where she worked under the guidance of Lucien Simon. She exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français, where she became a member in 1934 and received an honorable mention in 1936. She has exhibited at the Salon d'Automne since 1938 and the Salon de la Marine since 1951, winning an honorary medal in 1966.
Her Breton landscapes and seascapes, traditionally painted on easels, seek to capture movement and the perpetual changes of light. Works by Renée Carpentier can be found in museums in Amiens and Marseille.
Renée Carpentier is the wife of painter Raymond Wintz.
