Portrait Bernard Boesch

Painter Bernard Boesch began exhibiting his work at an early age, taking part in prestigious events such as the Salon des Artistes Français and the Salon d'Automne. He later turned his attention to architecture, contributing for over three decades to the reconstruction of the French Atlantic coast after the Second World War and to the architectural development of the renowned seaside resort of La Baule.

Inspired by Fauvism and his exchanges with figures such as Matisse, Raoul Dufy, Charles Walch and Bernard Buffet, Boesch evolved his style towards painting that was first geometric, then minimalist. With an artistic career spanning 75 years, Boesch's work straddles the border between modern and contemporary art.
