Leonardo Semitecolo
There is no precise biographical information on this Venetian optician. The only known event in his life is the award of a gold medal for a silver spectacle in 1825. His Venetian workshop was located at 4964 in the famous St. Mark's Square.
Semitecolo is an important brand in the field of optics for having invented and built a particular type of terrestrial telescope, characterised by a structure formed by four cardboard tubes. All its instruments have similar characteristics, in particular the main part, in which the manufacturer's signature is printed, is covered with orange paper.
