This very rare lithograph was produced to sell land or rent villas on La Bôle beach around 1880, when the train arrived between Saint-Nazaire and Le Croisic, with the aim of turning it into a real seaside resort. La Baule became a seaside resort in its own right, and was renamed La Baule in 1896 after the start of urbanization.
